ABOUT
Jeffrey E Schwartz
Jeffrey E Schwartz was an avid motocross fan as a youth and worked as a pizza cook to fuel his desire to race his own bike. In August of 1974 he purchased his first motorcycle a newly redesigned 1975 Puch 125 Moto-Cross from Goettel Motors in Lakemoor Illinois. His first race was a muddy one at Maplehurst Cycle Park, just south of Wilmot WI in October. He won his first race a few weeks later at Lake Geneva Raceway and was hooked on racing for life.
Jeff went on to race numerous European and Japanese bikes from 1974 through 1990. A spinal injury retired Jeff from actual motocross racing, but he still enjoys occasionally riding these vintage bikes around his property.
“I remember the 70’s fondly as technology in MX was rapidly changing. My friends and I were always taking Saturday road trips in the off season checking out all the new bikes arriving in the various Chicago area shops like Aero-PA in McHenry, Krause Competition Cycles in Nortchbrook, Midwest Allsport in Waukegan, Midwest Action Cycle in Lake zurich, Carroll’s Cycle in Northbrook, and even E&J Cycle in Lake Geneva WI. The smell of the rubber from the tires as you entered the showrooms brought a smile to our faces, a memory that is vivid in my mind today. This collection keeps those fond memories alive!” ~ Jeff
Today when Jeff Schwartz isn’t messing with bike projects he’s running his company Schwartz Performance Inc., a performance chassis manufacturer and custom car building company based in Woodstock Illinois.
